Hello Barbara,
a friend of mine insulated a roof with sheep wool some ten years ago. 
He blended the wool with borax, a salt of the element Borium.
He did not wash the wool, that means that it was still impregnated with
lanolin ( wool oil). He powdered the salt into the wool in situ.
No moth problems occured since then.
I did the same this summer. We shall see.
