[Strawbale] Certificates

Dear Christopher, dear Marcel

Its not so simple.
There are materials in the national building list, according to the
country codes,
which naturally don't need a CE or other certification.
I can use gravel in my foundation and the one who sells me the gravel,
don't need a CE-certification.

According to the European building-regulations only
modules/assembled building-parts, which are planked on both sides,
need a CE-certification.
For straw-modules, which are not planked on both sides, there is no CE
(e.g. for EcoCocon-modules).

Also there is no CE-certification for straw as a building material.

But there are national and European tests, which lead in some countries
to an ETA or NTA.
If there is a building-strawbale, tested according to NTA or ETA, in
your country
(like in Germany and Austria), some building officials tell you,
that you have to use these certified bales. But not all of them.

But if there is no national certification, you can build as most of
the European countries,
by collecting as many tests as possible, to show, that straw bales are
a safe, good and
common building-material all over the world.

all the best
Herbert
