Computation of lighting-relevant values

Some programmes useful for lighting evaluation purposes

will eventually be placed in this directory. At present, there are just

lun_illum.php for computation of direct moonlight anywhere anytime (the source script is this one; thanks to Rudolf Novak for giving me the advice),
nights.php for computation of the length of the night (the source script is this one),
lum.php for conversion of SI luminance units to some queer astronomical ones (the source script is this one),
insolation.php for computation of sundials or of clear-sky solar gains through windows etc. (the source script is this one),
star_pos.php for displaying the Bright Star Catalogue star data and computing azimuths, heights and airmasses (the source script is this one),
padi.php for displaying the Position Angle and Angular Distance of pairs of stars (the source script is this one),
tr_bin_t.php the same for binaries (a Czech-English hybrid),
and a powerful stellar chart programme map.php (the source script is this one).

An example of its output is mach.png, a map for the January 2005 comet Machholz, made by the map.php by writing
@mach.cnf np o wpmach.eps d5.1.2005 t20 ut0
on the command line and checking the box ``override'' (in fact, I've deleted most of the deep-sky objects from mach.eps and remade the png and pdf files). The times are UTC (comet positions as passing near Pleiades, each ``European'' evening).

(February and March comet positions produced similarly with a command line
@mach.cnf np o wpmap.eps ra15 de80 d8.2.2005 t20 ut0 $s2 $n30 m800
and less editing are the files mach2.*, e.g. mach2.png.)
