Regarding what I wrote yesterday I would add this : if you want to build 
an affordable house, you build a 1 level rectangular big bales house, 
then the roof (flat or not), then the windows.  Your building is quickly 
built.

I've quite often seen houses with the south walls completely covered 
with windows.  Generally the windows are bad quality windows with a lot 
of air leaks.  You get energy from the sun of course but during the 
night you loose much more energy you get...  If you want to do the same 
with high quality windows it becomes really expensive.  In my house we 
put 3 high quality windows which are 2.2m high x 2m width.  This Monday 
was a shiny day (it happens sometimes in Belgium) and at 1:00PM we had 
21.5°C.  This is really enough.  We don't need 27°C !
