Correction to previous: ... not a valid reason ...

BTW, what would Jesus do when faced with disinterested astro clubs?
Shake the sand from his sandals and move on to greener pastures.

The word is getting out outside of astro circles. Why not help it along
and give your ego a boost at the same time? -sd

Eric, Jessie and others,

You don't have to buy a lobbyist to do what should be *YOUR* job.
A group of passionate constituents with an clear understanding
of what they want and a "fire in the belly" can be more effective
than a hired gun. That is what founded this great country if you
look back at its early history [farmers vs. professional soldiers].
The traitors are those who think nothing can be done or let others
fight the battles for them and will always be beholding to the "king"
or whoever is in-charge.

Sure the situation is FUBAR, but that is *not* a valid reason to not
try to change things and re-right the wrongs. Without active
support from the masses [and not just a few star huggers], things
aren't going to change. Look at the Civil Rights Movement!

You want it; you fight for it! That is what the other side does.
Otherwise, it is lights by default.

As for state vs. local law, BOTH are needed. State lp laws
attempt to control the flow of state [grant] money [and the DOT].
There is still the private sector that needs regulation which falls
under the concept of "home rule". Go after both at the same time.
One can trigger the other.

BTW, the picture with the attorney walking to the courthouse
http://www.timesunion.com/news/frontpage/index.asp?CartoonDate=3D2005-11-
23
is a great metaphor without words. Don't let it be attorney
hired to defend the lights and strike down or block the lp law.

-sd
