Dobry den,

jeste k promennym hvezdam. Cetli jsme zde (ti, co umi anglicky)
nazory dvou vedcu na tema vizualni pozorovani promennych hvezd (ptal
se Jirka Dusek).

V clanku "V ohnisku: Promenne hvezdy" se pise, cituji:
+++ Vizuální pozorování polopravidelných promìnných hvìzd, je¾ mìní 
jasnost v jakýchsi cyklech, èi nepravidelných promìnných jsou pak 
pro profesionály prakticky nezajímavá. +++


Posilam odpoved vedce, ktery se na rozdil od posledne tazanych zabyva 
analyzou vizualnich pozorovani dlouhoperiodickych promennych hvezd 
(polopravidelne, miridy):

Mezi ceskymi astronomy probiha bourliva diskuze o uzitecnosti
vizualnich pozorovani promennych hvezd jednak obecne pro ucely 
astrofyziky a take pro profesionalni astronomy. Byl byste tak laskav
a zodpovedel mi nasledujici otazku? Myslite si, ze vizualni pozorovani
promennych hvezd (zvlaste pak polopravidelnych a mirid) je uzitecne
pro profesionalni astronomy? Je Vas nazor ovlivnen (resp. berete pri
sve odpovedi v uvahu) velky rozptyl a/nebo mozne chybne informace 
obsazene v takovych pozorovanich?

> To give a short answer to your question in advance, I think that 
>amateur data are of high importance for selected fields of
professional astronomy. I would say that there are two main fields,
where amateur observations are really relevant for professional
astronomy (beside the detection of supernovae which is of course also 
of high importance):
> + monitoring of novae, cataclysmic variables etc. where
the observation of outbursts and other sudden or slow changes provides 
an important information for astronomers to investigate these objects
at the right time.
> + monitoring of long period variables: As these variables
show variations on very long timescales (several hundred days)
it is almost impossible for professional astronomers to obtain complete
light curves of these stars. To estimate periods, amateur data are
therefore very important. 
Furthermore, only in rare cases professional astronomers can
> observe the light change of an object at the same time as
for exampleits spectrum (I used amateur data recently for such a
comparison. I suppose, that's why you contacted me?) These aspects will
be discussed in detail in the paper I mentioned above.

Myslim si ze data porizena amatery jsou ve vybranych oblastech 
profesionalni astronomie velmi dulezita.
Rekl bych, ze jsou dve takove oblasti, kde jsou amaterska pozorovani
z hlediska profesionalnich astronomu skutecne vyznamna (nepocitam-li
detekce supernov, ktere jsou samozrejme take velmi dulezite):
+ monitorovani nov, kataklyzmickych promennych apod., kde pozorovani
vzplanuti a jinych nahlych nebo pomalych zmen poskytuje profesionalum 
dulezite informace pro zkoumani techto objektu v realnem case.
+ monitorovani dlouhoperiodickych promennych hvezd (polopravidelne, 
miridy). Protoze svetelne zmeny techto hvezd se deji na velmi dlouhych
casovych skalach (nekolika set dni) je pro profesionalni astronomy
temer nemozne poridit kompletni svetelne krivky takovych hvezd. Pro
urcovani period jsou proto data amateru velmi dulezita.
Navic mohou profesionalove jen ve vyjimecnych pripadech sledovat 
zaroven svetelne zmeny a napr. spektrum hvezdy /profes. sleduji 
spektrum a amateri svetelne zmeny/.
Doufam, ze jsem vas dotaz uspokojive zodpovedel. Velmi doporucuji, aby
skupina MEDUZA pokracovala ve sve praci.
