Re: [strawbale] Straw bales houses in the UK

Hi Nick - it's a bit difficult getting to view buildings here as they're mainly private, and we need to be in touch with several of them to update ourselves on who would be happy to have telephone calls/visits etc.  Off the top of my head, I can say that Vauxhall City Farm which has a cow and goat sb shelter, and a farm near us (Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire) would be happy for you to visit the facilities building.  There are 3 at CAT - Centre for Alternative Technology in Machnylleth, Wales, and there are a couple in Ireland who may well be open to visitors - southern Ireland, if you wanted to expand your dissertation to UK and Ireland.  There is also an office attached to the Steiner School in Belfast who would be happy to have visitors. Are you interested in any particular buildings?  Residential?  Or all/any strawbale constructions?
In the meantime, check the website - there is a Guide to sb building in our climate which you may find useful.  Good luck, and be in touch if you want details of the above.
