Dear Paul and Sven,

Are you familiar with the works from California, Bruce Kings latest book has
a lot of good references on tests.

A load bearing strawbale wall is carried by the plaster skins. It can be
hard to understand, as they are so thin. But because the plaster is always
more stiff then the straw, relatively, the load ends up on the skin, -
untill they crack, then it will go to the bales at some point. The density
of the bales etc does have some relevance, but less then perhaps expected.
>From the Ontario strawbale website there are also a bunch of links to tests,
there have been made several tests on the loadbearing capacity of a
strawbale wall. And ofcourse there is Minkes work, found in his very good
books, lucky those with good German reading skills, as the latest is still
only in German..

Love
Caroline
