Hello Sara

Clay plaster makes SB wall air tight. But it is necessary to solve connecting details. We use air stop tape around windows, air stop papers behind some wooden elements interfering with plaster surface and this paper is then connected to plaster (plastered over) to create continuous air tight layer. Like this the connection between plaster and wooden post or plaster and ring beams should be air tight, but you have to think to put paper there before you put straw bales. Later, if there is a crack between wood and plaster after drying process, behind is an air tight paper.
