Re: [Strawbale] Searching for the Danish SB R-value testing results

Aqui vão os valores dos testes para o R dos fardos de palha na Dinamarca e Austria. Tudo depende da densidade dos fardos..

Dear André

Here are the test-results in detail:

Danish
U-values from ?-values Measured for 385 mm straw parallel to heat flow, 75 kg / m3
Heat flow parallel to straw: ? = 0.057 W / mK
(source: http://www.baubiologie.at/download/jma_slides_halmhuse.pdf)

Tests made in Austria for “Haus der Zukunft”-project “Wandsystem aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen “, 1/2000 in detail:

MA39 Versuchs– und Forschungsanstalt in Vienna: ÖNORM-tests:
wheat-strawbale: density  90 kg/m3, ?10 dry= 0,0369, + 20%* = R-Value 0,0443
wheat-strawbale: density  100 kg/m3, ?10 dry= 0,0340, + 20% = R-Value 0,0408
wheat-strawbale: density  110 kg/m3, ?10 dry= 0,0337, + 20% = R-Value 0,0404

MA39 Versuchs– und Forschungsanstalt in Vienna: ISO-tests:
wheat-strawbale: density: 90 kg/m3, ?10 dry= 0,0380 W/mK
wheat-strawbale: density: 90 kg/m3, ?20 dry= 0,0394 W/mK
wheat-strawbale density: 90 kg/m3, ?30 dry= 0,0408 W/mK

*There is a 20% addition for moisture-sensitive materials, so we work with ?10 dry: 0,045 W/mK
(source for both: http://www.baubiologie.at/download/hausderzukunft.pdf)

Tests made in Austria for “Stroh Kompakt”, 8/2005
                        R-Value at 10 °C av. temp. ?10 W/mK
dry                    0,045 (Nennwert, for at least 90 % of the production)
23°C/50%         ? D(23/50) = 0,046
23°C/85%         ?10(23/85) = 0,050
