Natural Building workshop with Tom Rijven (base coat and natural finish on strawbale walls), 08. - 14. May 2010
Tom Rijven is well-known as an extraordinary teacher and author of straw-builder reference book "Between Earth and Straw". The course takes place in a large strawbale house, located in the beautiful setting of the Swiss Jura. You will be hosted by the ecovillage "Clos du Doubs", which will serve delicious local and organic food, made by our cook Luana with love and passion. Besides the practical part, Tom will provide you with a theoretical part that treats ramped earth tires as foundation as well as the construction with strawbales. The ecovillage will be happy to explain to you the strawbale house, which will be the future location of a center for natural building and ecology.
The price for the workshop, food and accomodation is €420, bzw. 650 CHF,
7 to max. 10 participants. (Languages: French and English.)

Tom Rijven est bienconnu comme instructeur exceptionel et auteur de livre entre paille et terre. Le cours est dans une grande maison en paille, dans un lieu manifique au Jura Suisse. Vous etes hotes de l'ecovillage Clos du Doubs, on serve de la nouriture local et bio faite de notre cuisinere Luana avec passion et amour. A part de cours pratique Tom va presenter une part theorique sur la fondation avec pneus et construction botte de paille. L'ecovillage vous presente voluntier la maison en paille, qui servira de lieu d'information et d'échange sur l'écoconstruction et l'écologie. Tom Rijven ist wohlbekannt als außergewöhnlicher Lehrer, sowie Autor des Standard-Werkes "Entre paille et terre" (Zwischen Stroh und Erde). Der praktische Teil des Kurses findet in einem großen Strohballenhaus, in einzigartiger Umgebung im Schweizer Jura, statt. Sie sind zu Gast im Ökodorf "Clos du Doubs", das Sie mit lokaler und biologischer Küche verwöhnt, zubereitet mit Liebe und Passion von unserer Köchin Luana. Der theoretische Teil vermittelt den Einsatz von Autoreifen als Fundament, sowie die Konstruktion mit Strohballen. Das Ökodorf präsentiert Ihnen gerne das "maison en paille", das als zukünftiges Informations- und Schulungszentrum für Ökokonstruktion und Ökologie dienen wird.
