2006 International Straw Bale Building Conference:
Call for Papers and Presentations

The 2006 International Straw Bale Building Conference is being hosted in
2006 by the Ontario Straw Bale Building Coalition at beautiful Camp
Kawartha, near Peterborough, Ontario, Canada from September 25 to 30, 2006.

The conference has an ambitious agenda, and will feature programming in four
different tracks: Owner/builder; Professional; Hands-on; and
Networking/Education. There will lots of overlap between these tracks, with
the overall purpose of the conference being the building of professional and
personal relationships and networks that will help advance straw bale
projects and sustainable building in general.

The conference organizers are looking for people wishing to present at the
conference. If you have a paper, a subject near and dear to your heart, or a
construction method you'd like to share, we'd like to hear from you. We're
also glad to receive advice about speakers you'd like to see included at the
conference. We will be accepting submissions until December 31, 2005.

Submissions should include a 50-100 word description of your presentation
(or paper abstract), a brief biography and any other relevant documentation.
Be sure to let us know what kind of presentation you are proposing (lecture,
panel, hands-on, etc) and who your intended audience will be.

The ISBBC may be able to fund travel and/or conference costs for speakers.
Please let us know if you would require such funding in your proposal.

About the ISBBC: Last year in beautifull Denmark, there
were plans to organise the next ISBBC in Canada somewhere
in the autumn (after the baling-season). Although that's
still a year away, I'm curious as to wether or not people
have been brainstorming/thinking about it already.
