Hola , Abajo adjunto las respuestas (en inglés) que he recibido a tu pregunta...aunque la sugerencia viene de gente que hayan tenido problemas en los muros, no en paja suelta en el techo. Cuando aparecen (no es muy común), suele ser durante el proceso de secado del revoco si coinciden condiciones de humedad y calor. Básicamente viene a ser que suelen desaparecer por su cuenta después de un tiempo. Nacen porque se juntan las condiciones que les gusta: humedad y calor. Cuando desaparecen estas condiciones también desaparecen los bichos...Hay dos variedades unos que pueden picar ("straw itch mite"), pero no son peligrosos, y otros que no pican ("Psocids"), pero que son molestos pero también sin ser peligrosos... Dos sugerencias han sido: ventilar bien para que haya menos humedad y calor o si no quieres esperar que se vayan solos, usa una insecticida. Otra persona sugería usar una aspiradora para recogerlas hasta que las condiciones se secan/enfrían... En la mayoría de casos solo aparecen una vez, y cuando se van ya está, aunque en un caso aparecieron tres años seguidos pero por fin desaparecieron. Esta persona dijo que "tienen preferencia para techos blancos y cada septiembre sus numeros menguan espontaneamente"... Espero que tengas suerte y desaparecen pronto... saludos, Rikki -------- Yes - straw itch mite, I had a few (millions) of these when we just moved in, but now they have seemed to go somewhere else...they can bite & some people are allergic to them and get a rush, but a part from that I think they are harmless. Amit Kvint ------ Rikki, there is a thread called Psocids infestation in the August 2004 archives. I remember I sent another email at a later date, but can't remember when that was. It took 3 years for the bugs to disappear completely in my house. I remember they had a clear preference for the white ceilings and every September their number decreased spontaneously. I think it is related to the depth of plaster that has to dry out, it just takes time. They had exactly the same problem in findhorn, I don't think it has recurred there either.
