(BBC tehdá na webmoc věcí nedávala, a ostatním to zakázala...). kromě toho jsem v přehledu níže opomněl uvést dobrý novější článek Navara, K. J. and Nelson, R. J. (2007) The dark side of light at night: physiological, epidemiological, and ecological consequences. Journal of Pineal Research, 43, 215-224. Doi:10.1111/j.1600-079X.2007.00473.x Online at http://www.psy.ohio-state.edu/nelson/documents/JPinealRes2007.pdf ........ Do emajlu připojuju jedno pdf, které není volně na webu, ale do moodlu ho jistě dáme. Pro takové tajné dokumenty udělám i zaheslovaný adresář na ,,svém`` amperu. Názvy předmětu mně napadají (v Norsku jsem měl nějaký lepší nápad, ale už nevím jaký): Environmental aspects of electric lighting Ecology of night: the problem of lighting Scotobiology: light as a pollutant Syllabus: The alteration of day and night is the basic rhythm on our Earth, with exception of close vicinity of North and South poles, depths of oceans, soils and rocks. All eukaryotic (and some bacteria) cells have inner clocks driving their metabolism and activities in about 24 h (circadian) rhythm. Natural alteration of light levels synchronises their inner clocks with the outside world. Chronobiology shows that this rhythm has a profound importance for humans. A problem which developed during the last century is, that the light signals we get are confused. Indoor lighting became so strong that it masks the natural light signals. Multitude of diseases are suspected to be a consequence, from breast cancer to obesity. Many people can't sleep well because of electric light from outdoors at night. Lack of real night outdoors affects wildlife and led to lost of many species from areas with artificial lighting. It robs mankind of the wonder of starry heavens and experience from moving in the natural darkness. Cultural damage and crippled ontogenesy result from this. Artificial lighting, becoming ever stronger with ever cheaper electricity (in real prices) and more efficient light sources, changed our live a lot, improving it tremendously. However, the "24/7" life has its drawbacks too. Light is to be regarded as pollutant in many cases, even as a toxin, at night. Quality and comfort of life enabled by electric lighting can be maintained and improved when light will be used with caution, as a needed but dangerous stuff -- like medicaments (or beer, wine...). Sending it just to needed direction, in the needed times, amounts and colours (filtering out the blue component at night) alleviates most problems a lot or completely. And saves lots of foil fuels... Metrology and technology for that will be explained, exercises will be made. At the end of the course, everybody should be an expert in environmental (outdoor and indoor) protection against light pollution, able to advise anybody what should be improved and how to do it.
