Today was Dark Sky day at the Connecticut Capitol,
with 2 bills up for hearing.
The Audubon Society, CTIDA (Leo Smith and Bob
Crelin), the lead staff person from DPUC on electricity, and a few state
representative came and spoke in favor of both bills.
Only one utility company (the small one) appeared
in opposition.
All in all, it was a great day for raising
awareness on Dark Sky issues...Bob Crelin did a great presentation before both
committees, turning all lights in the room OFF, and then using a light to
demonstrate glare and full cutoff. Bob delivered the message loud and
clear.
It was also impressive when the lead staff person
from the state DPUC comes to testify to support the bills...
