OLFers,
Please have a read of this -
Here in the UK Audi Cars are advertising their new Start-Stop technology
<http://www.marketingmagazine.co.uk/news/916613/Audi-backs-Start-Stop-technology-4m-campaign/>.
It uses incandescent lights at night as the icon for cars, which when
stationary turn off the light icon! Now the ad's byline is that when
the "car"/light is stationary, the light goes out, saves energy and
cuts CO2 emissions. See the point? They are equating light at night with
energy waste. This ad "raises the question we always ask, why don't
cities have dimming streetlights or turn off most of 'em after 11:00
p.m.? If autos can be designed that way, so can streetlights." says
Francis Parnell in Florence, SC, USA.
Graham Cliff.
