[Strawbale] Concrete Base - foundations question??

I'd reckon that's pretty good. A course of blocks should give you good clearance above 
the concrete, but I would advise some sort of damp proof course, as Kurt has 
suggested. Ideally, this would go about 150mm+ above ground level.
