That's correct. A LPA friendly consituency will naturally drag the 
politicians into the LPA direction. That is, by far, the greatest 
challenge LPA faces. But once conquered, it will also give the strongest 
and longest lasting victory.  While I am it, I want to congratulate the 
IDA for it's night sky friendly lighth logo program. Hopefully it's a 
good step that will increase general awareness in the community.

What will make large fraction of any country's population turn in favor 
of LPA is the million dollar question. It's not going to be astronomy. 
More likely it will be a combination of energy costs and green house gas 
emission controls.

In the Canary Islands, with a lighting law since 1988 and economic 
reasons not to have lights, the people's lighting-bug-lust to flash 
every night persists.
